"I began working with Harrisonburg Public City Schools in the spring of 2022. Through my position I hope to integrate students in their school communities, build relationships, and create positive school engagement.
Before coming to work for Harrisonburg City School, I worked for 9 years with the local child welfare department and I have worked in the human services field for over 15 years in Virginia and Oregon.
I graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in 2007 and grew up in the Shenandoah Valley. When I’m not working, I enjoy biking and spending time with my family and friends. Harrisonburg is a great community and I’m happy to call it my home."

"I grew up in Northern Virginia and attended James Madison University where I got both my Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences with a Minor in medical spanish and, as of recently, my Masters of Arts in Communication and Advocacy with a Strategic Communication concentration. During my time at JMU I participated in different clubs and organizations which allowed me to grow closer to the Harrisonburg Community.
As a recent graduate, I am looking forward to sharing the skills and knowledge I have gathered over the years. I hope to engage parents and students who do not feel connected to their community due to language barriers. As a fluent English - Spanish speaker I hope to assist parents and students so that they can achieve their goals in school as well as outside of school.
When not at work I enjoy supporting JMU sports as well as the Marching Royal Dukes. I enjoy taking my 1 year old pup, Whiskey, on walks and watching Bluey. I am very excited and grateful to give back to the Harrisonburg community as they have given me so much already. "

" I grew up in New Jersey and moved to Virginia when I attended James Madison University. There, I studied Social Work, graduating with my BSW. Since then, I have been working locally at Harrisonburg/Rockingham Social Service District in Child Welfare for about 10 years. I also worked at UVA on a psychiatric floor. I have strong foundational knowledge of services available to help students and families in the area.
I began working for Harrisonburg Child Public Schools in November of 2023. Through my position, I hope to engage students who do not feel connected to their school community, build relationships, provide support, and assist every student in achieving their goals throughout their school career.
When not at work, I enjoy being active. I play pick up hockey and basketball. I also enjoy playing golf and going for walks with my family. I take great pride in being a part of the Harrisonburg community! "
