The Virginia Department of Education provides many resources to help teachers of Social Studies. The SOL Blueprint provides the guidelines for the SOL test creation, including how many questions from each reporting category will be on the test. The Scope and Sequence document provides sample lesson plans to correspond with the SOL curriculum framework. The curriculum framework provides details on specifically what SOL information should be taught (it is more specific than the broad SOLs).
