The World Is My Classroom is an initiative by our Superintendent Dr. Richards to foster more real-world learning across our city schools by supporting innovative projects that connect students with experts and audiences beyond our school campuses.

We're looking for projects that are:

• focused on real world skills
• designed for equitable access for all kinds of students
• relevant
• authentic
• linked to Virginia Standards of Learning
• built on community partnerships

HCPS educators can submit an application for a project idea here. Please note that this grant program is intended to be an incubator for innovative ideas and programs, and not for annually recurring events.

Students and families paint leaves for a tree mural that will decorate the HCPS office downtown.		SKMS Steppas competed in the 15th Annual Spring Showdown.
HHS Media students attended the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in New York City.		Author and poet Kwame Alexander performed his poetry for HHS students.
Award-winning children's author Aida Salazar joined summer school students and held a free event for families.		High school students competed in the EV Grand Prix in the United Arab Emirates.
