Since its inception in 2012 our STEM Explorations Academies have grown by 500%. Students can apply to be in the STEM Explorations Academy at the end of their 6th grade year. The program is available at both middle schools. In 7th grade the program focuses on Life Science and an introduction to engineering and computer programming. In 8th grade the students focus on physical science and have a more intense engineering design- based course. Each grade level is in the STEM class for 107 minutes each day and is co-taught by a science teacher and an engineering/technology education teacher.
