Library Mission

The mission of the Smithland Elementary Library is to serve as an information 
center for the school, providing its patrons with opportunities to develop a 
love for reading. Patrons will be instructed in skills for researching topics 
of interest, and guided to use library facilities with the ease and 
confidence needed to promote lifelong learning. 

All students at Smithland are scheduled for a weekly library 
class with checkout. Students may also come to the library any
time convenient to their classroom schedule to return/checkout materials or to engage in activities that support classroom instructional objectives.
