The World Is My Classroom (ADA)

For too long public education has been insular and self-isolating. Efforts to connect to outside institutions and organizations are often narrow and focused on a particular need – such as partnering with businesses to provide summer jobs or mentors for at-risk students. These are important efforts, but the broader community has much more to offer to public education. In fact, public education doesn’t begin to realize all of the potential our broader community can provide until we forge partnerships. The World is My Classroom initiative focuses on developing a systematic approach to forging meaningful, vision-aligned strategic partnerships with outside institutions and organizations always with the unwavering focus on enriching the educational experiences of students while continuing to support teachers as they provide those experiences. The initiative will connect students to authentic, challenging, real-world problems driven by their personal interests.
