The branches and leaves of a tree are connected by one trunk and have a common goal.
Each unique branch and leaf is treasured and plays a vital role in the survival and growth of the tree.
Our community is like a tree, diverse yet with a common goal.
Our HCPS tree has ten branches, one for each school in Harrisonburg City Public Schools.
The leaves were created by HCPS students and staff.
We hope this tree will promote dialogue in our community.
Watch a time lapse video of the creation of the mural (taken by Kurtis Blosser).
