Students that have graduated from Harrisonburg High School are eligible to have their device released from HCPS management and are not required to give the device back to HHS unless they wish to donate it for future student use. Upon graduation, ownership of the device "as is" is transferred to the student for the purposes of educational and personal use. HCPS is no longer responsible for the content or searches made on the device, nor responsible for the maintenance, insurance repair, or replacement.
Important dates:
Following graduation from HCPS, student email accounts will be suspended and their chromebook will be released from HCPS management. Please read over the following timelines. Access to email will go away approximately one week after graduation.
If students are wishing to keep any school files you must either:
- use a personal computer and download files from your Google Drive
- Use a flash drive to download the files you wish to keep
On Tuesday, June 18th, all graduate's HCPS Google Accounts will be disabled.
- Your HHS google account will no longer work
- You will no longer be able to access your school email or Google Drive.
On Tuesday, June 18th, your chromebook will be released from HHS management.
- You must power your chromebook on and connect to wifi between June 18 and June 20 in order to for the release to take effect.
- To continue using the device after the release, you will need a personal Google email to log onto the device.
- After the release, the chromebook is yours and HCPS can no longer filter, manage, or support it.
